The FIFA world cup to be held for the first time in African continent is scheduled to be hosted by the Republic of South Africa.
This is the game that many African people have been longing for a long time.
I am sure that it would surely be coming out to a wonderful convention.
Japanese people, who experienced the collaboration with Korea in 2002 and realized the pleasure of having these convention are grappling with the huge theme [a million peoples love to African children] in order to celebrate World cup from the bottom of their heart.
If this activity could give a dream to children, there would be no other pleasure than this for me who is one of those who love soccer.

“Let us cheers up African children all together"
The FIFA world cup to be held in the Republic of South Africa in 2010 is creeping up every moment and we are so much strained that we feel as if we are tightened by tense.
Now in Japan, the supporting activity is proceeding under the theme of “A million peoples love to African children” not only to support Japanese soccer players of National team but also to cheer up the African children with such feeling of support wishing that they would work hard with a dream. I believe this supporting activity is really amazing.
There are many African soccer star players making good job in the
world. I strongly want all children in hard circumstances at present to work hard aiming a dream.
Soccer is such a sport that we can make our dream come true only
by one soccer ball, however, we have to conquer many difficulties existing on our way to dreams.
I would like to tell children strongly that they will surely be able to have their dream come true if they keep making an endeavor of kicking soccer ball without giving up even in difficult circumstances.

The humanitarian support campaign to help African children, under the slogan “Million peoples’ love to African Children”, has been launched with the timing of the World cup to be held in the Republic of South Africa in 2010 in mind. In the firm belief that the new approach of this campaign, which combines the collaboration of enterprises, private organizations and individuals will certainly be a model of future humanitarian activities, I have been making every effort to assist this project from the outset.
I am fully aware of the difficulties that this campaign has encountered in every phase, but at the same time I have been witnessing that they have overcome these challenges combining everyone’s wisdom and willingness, and the ripples of support have gradually spread wider and wider. I feel that in this epoch when human relations are becoming thinner, people are moved by the selfless motives of the campaign, and give an unreserved support.
Now, the count down for the World Cup has started, and it is the time when the sincerity of the Japanese people is tested. I sincerely hope that we will be able to gather all the pride, sincerity and goodwill of as many Japanese people as possible, and deliver it to the African children in the form of humanitarian support.
